                                                                             Is Now On Sale.

Packed from Cover to Cover with photo’s from the past and from the present the Parish Calendar is compiled by members of Lorrha Development Association as a fundraiser for the work carried out in the lovely historical village of Lorrha.

Priced at just €10 the calendar is available in the Lorrha end of the parish from Pat Hough publican Colette’s Hair Salon Ferry Inn Restaurant & Bar Ferry Service Station Carrigahorig Post Office Louis & Kathleen McCormack’s Pub GAA Clubhouse. In Rathcabbin it’s available from Kelly’s Bar & Grocery Brophy’s Bar & Grocery.

The Calendar is also available from Super Valu (O’Meara’s) Portumna Salmons Newsagents Portumna.

Sympathy.

Sympathy is extended to the Cahalan family Curragha and the O’Meara families Cullagh and Lissagadda on the death of Kitty Dooley Lisheen Birr which occurred on Thursday 3rd. After funeral Mass in Rath Church on Sunday last burial took place in the adjoining cemetery. May she rest in peace.

Christmas Market.

Lorrha Lord Mayor candidate Teresa Dunne is holding a Christmas Market in St. Ruadhan’s Community Hall in Lorrha on Sunday December 20th. Santa will be calling to check that all the boys and girls are behaving while there will be a disco and stalls galore selling Christmas produce. There will be a lot of activity going on here on the day and more details as they become available. This fundraiser is for the development of Friars Park in the village and Lorrha Development Association ask all to support Teresa.

Gratitude.

Lorrha Lord Mayor Candidate David Power wishes to extend thanks to all who supported his fundraising table quiz and all who donated spot prizes on Friday night last with a special word of praise for his hard working committee. 1st. Prize was won by Aidan McIntyre and his team 2nd. prize by Ruth Needham and her team with the student table going to Amanda Houlihan and her team. There were several prizes in the raffle and they were won by Padraig O’Meara Bridget Hogan Nancy White Pete Gibbs Adrian Bouchier Liz Hussey Bridget Glynn Eamonn Mannion Leon Houhihan Mick Hoctor Mark Houlihan Ann Coughlan James Heenan Eoin McIntyre Betty Houlihan. This effort is to raise funds for the development of Friars Park in the village and David has more ideas in the planning process so watch this space.

Reminder.

Lorrha Variety group will perform “Hush Hush” in St. Ruadhan’s Community Hall Lorrha this week-end Friday Dec. 11th. through to Sunday 13th. inclusive. Doors open at 8 with curtains up at 8.30p.m. All are welcome.

Lorrha Development.

A meeting of the above committee will take place on Thursday night 10th. Dec. at 8.00p.m. in St. Ruadhan’s Community Hall. All members are requested to attend.

The Lorrha Parish Calendar is on sale throughout the parish and is packed with photo’s from the past and the present. The calendar makes a lovely gift for those living away from home. Please support.

Christmas Party.

Senior Citizens Christmas Party will take place in the GAA clubhouse this coming Sunday 13th. from 4.00p.m. to 9.00p.m.

Christmas Play.

Busy bodies Christmas play will take place in Carrig hall this Sunday 13th. at 3.00p.m. All donations given on door will be given to Spina Bifida Association and Duchenne Ireland ( Muscular Dystrophy). Come along and support the little people.
