The countdown begins to the family fun day and match organized by the Lorrha Lord Mayor Candidate Joe Dolan and his committee. The event will take place in the GAA pitch in Motefield on Monday December 28th. at 2.00p.m. The main feature of the event is a fun challenge match between the 1984 North Hurling Champions and the 2009 County Camogie Champions with throw in at 2.00p.m. Joe is playing his cards close to his chest but rumor has it that there very well could be celebrity subs on the sideline fighting for a place on a team…..any team who knows where they might end up playing and how???? There’s going to be plenty of fun and laughter here combined with side shows for the kids a shop auction for fuel fodder and a lawn mower which has been kindly sponsored by Noel Hogan of Premier Plant Hire Banagher and there’s much more too. So don’t miss the ‘craic’ and don’t forget the time 2.00p.m. Monday 28th. Lorrha Development Association ask all to come out and support this effort by Joe and his hard working committee.

Birthday Greetings.

Congratulations and good wishes is extended to Davey Sullivan who recently celebrated his 80th. birthday. Davey who is originally from Lords Park moved to Llandudno in Wales 60 years ago. He makes return trips to the parish to visit his family members as often as he possibly can and they certainly didn’t forget his birthday either. Davey played hurling with Lorrha as a young man and not only proved to be popular but was a huge loss to the club when he emigrated. However circumstances of the day dictated and Davey had to leave his native land and the hurling behind but he did go ahead to play hockey for his adopted Country where he proved to be equally as popular as he fitted in well to the new ground game. We know Davey looks forward to reading the Lorrha Notes every week to keep up with happenings in his native parish and all your friends and relations here Davey want to wish you a very happy birthday and they look forward to seeing you back here on holiday very soon. Well done and many good wishes to you.
