Lorrha Notes.

Lorrha Development Association.

Thanks is extended to all those who turned out for the litter picking around the village and on the approach roads last week. It was indeed heartening to see so many coming out and doing their bit for the environment and above all for their village. There was a lot of rubbish collected on the evening and you can see just some of this amount on this web site under Photo Gallery. Thanks also is extended to Mary and Arnold for providing the smashing refreshments after the hard work. There will be a regular clean up and work evenings arranged shortly with details announced here and on the web site next week.

Gratitude.

On behalf of the Hogan and O’Meara families Bridget Grover Lorrha wishes to extend sincere thanks to all who took the time to attended her 50th. birthday party recently. A special word of thanks is extended to Denis and Lil Maher and to Ray Kennedy. Your company on the night and your good wishes is most appreciated.

Australia’s Got Lorrha Talent.

The Australian’s Got Talent T.V. show which goes out on Tuesday night’s has Lorrha connections and talent at this present time appearing on the show. Brother and sister duo Adil and Maimuna Memon are the son and daughter of Breda Madden formally from Grange Lorrha and the grandchildren of Bridget. Right now this talented duo who have appeared for the second week on the popular show are on the crest of a wave with the public demanding to see and hear more and more from them. Now in it’s fourth season the Australian’s got talent show has attracted a larger than usual entry with 4000 people who have tried out for the show which is viewed by millions in every state. The winner will receive a top prize of 250.000 Australian dollars for their efforts. The show stopping performance which was served up by Adil and Maimuna last week was described on Aussie T.V. reviews as having “blown the judges away”. Adil and Maimuna play the fiddle and guitar as well as singing and they certainly didn’t take it from the ground coming from such a musical background as the Madden family here in Grange. Well done to them both and all in Lorrha wish them well as they set their sights on the finishing line.
