Congratulations to Anna May Corrigan Portland and Mary Gormally Birr who share the parish lotto which had reached 20000 and had stayed at that figure for a number of weeks.
The winning numbers  are 2 – 6 – 11 – 21 and the winning promotors are The Ferry Service Station and Kelly’s ‘The Last Chance Bar’ Rathcabbin. Well done girls.


New Arrival.

Congratulations is extended to Michael and Anna Young Ballymacegan on the birth of their son on Tuesday 12th. A brother to Patrick Michaela Alannah and Ava plenty of help there for the new mum. Well done to all the family.

Commiserations.

We extend commiserations to the under 21 hurlers who went down to Kilruane on Saturday last in the semi-final on a scoreline of Lorrha 1.11 Kilruane 2.18. Hard luck lads.

Congratulations is extended to our two parish men Conor Sullivan and Kevin Maher and to the Thomas McDonagh Senior Football Team who had a great victory over Fr. John Kenyons in the North final on Thursday night last with the man at the helm Joe Hannigan. Well done lads.

Resumption of Charity Work.

Lorrha Apostolic Work Society have resumed their winter time activities sewing knitting embroidery etc. in aid of the missions on Thursday night’s in Lorrha Hall. While the present group will continue this great work they would love to welcome new members too so do go along. The usual Christmas draw will take place again this year and tickets will soon be on sale.

Birthday Greetings.

Congratulations is extended to Helen Kennedy The Pike Rathcabbin who celebrated her 50th. birthday last week-end. Helen celebrated the occasion with family and friends in Doolys Hotel Birr and a great time was had by all. Well done Helen. We also congratulate Patrick ‘Bonner’ Maher who celebrated his 21st. birthday on Saturday night last with family and friends. Well done Bonner.

St. Ruadhan’s Active Retirement.

Please note there will be no meeting on Wednesday 20th October 2010. Also our table quiz which was scheduled for Friday 29th October 2010 has been postponed for the time being.

Active Training.

Na Calai CDP in partnership with Galway Rural Development are running an Active Training Programme which will take place over five Thursday evenings in the Shannon Oaks Hotel Portumna. The programme is free of charge and will cover topics from committee management to making funding applications. Autumn Conference.

The 47th. Roscrea Autumn Conference will make a Field trip to the early Christian Dominican Priory and Augustinian Priory on Saturday 30th. October starting at 2.10p.m.

Draft List.

The draft voters list for 2011/2012 is now being prepared and will be published on 1st. November. If you are 18 years by the 15th. February next and you are ordinarily resident in the constituency of Tipperary North and if you are not already registered you can register now by contacting North Tipperary County Council Civic Offices Limerick Road Nenagh or call (067) 44520 and request a registration form. Closing date for receipt of Postal and special voters applications is 25th. October.

Start Your Own Business.
