There are many interesting walks in the locality. Walk to include monasteries, castles and bog. Mary McGeeney was born & raised in Curragha & walked 2 miles to school in the village through the bog on what was the old Portumna to Birr railway. A lady with many talents, she completed a tour guide course in 2003 and she also teaches dancing.
